Today, we recommend models where the ohm resistance is below 1.0 ohm, as they provide more vapour. Additionally, it also brings out a better flavour in the e-liquid.

The elongated “cylindrical” cigarette model is still on the market. With improved battery technology, box MODs have entered the market, where the output power (watt) is significantly higher. You can currently buy products that provide up to 350 watts.

So if you are considering switching from smoke to vapour, you must first decide on one of the following types:

1. An elongated cylindrical model. Still functions as a regular battery you charge and discharge with use. Charges with a standard USB plug. Max output approx. 50W.
2. A box MOD with an integrated battery. Still functions as a regular battery you charge and discharge with use. Charges with a standard USB plug. Max output approx. 80W.
3. A box MOD with separate batteries. You need to purchase 2 – 4 separate 18650 batteries and a charger. Max output approx. 350W.

When measuring harmfulness, you should always consider the alternative. Vaping e-liquids should therefore be seen as a significantly less harmful alternative compared to smoking tobacco cigarettes.

E-liquid contains 4-5 ingredients that can potentially be converted into 20-30 different substances upon evaporation, 2-3 of which are on the list of potentially carcinogenic substances. 

However, the amount of these substances is 9-450 times less in vapour compared to cigarette smoke. So if the alternative is for smokers to continue smoking – then e-vapour is clearly preferable. 

It should also be emphasised that the vapour exhaled by someone vaping does not contain harmful substances and residual nicotine. Therefore, you should not worry about exposing others to 'passive vapour'.

This is naturally a difficult question to answer, as the best e-cigarette model is an individual experience. But our advice is that the focus should be on choosing the best e-liquid and best clearomizer / best tank. Precisely because the taste of the liquid is crucial for the overall vaping experience. 

So, all else being equal, choose a clearomizer / tank that provides a good taste and combine this with the best e-liquid.
